About MTR In-train TV

MTR* In-train TV is delivered on board trains of MTR East Rail Line, Tuen Ma Line, Kwun Tong Line (Trains equipped with LCD screens) and South Island Line, that was known as the Passenger Information Display System (PIDS). The system was designed to provide audio-visual messages to passengers, including train operation messages and vital information during emergency; for the sake of securing the performance level of MTR services, it is maintained to be reliable with outstanding delivery quality.

Built on the foundation of PIDS, MTR* In-train TV is a high-quality delivery system that takes advantage of the synergy of MTR's extensive railway network and i-CABLE's strong news production experience. MTR* In-train TV, being the world's first medium on railway system that provides audio-visual Cantonese news, delivers updated local and international news, financial news, sports news, entertainment news, weather forecast, infotainment and other programme contents on board trains of MTR East Rail Line,Tuen Ma Line, Kwun Tong Line (Trains equipped with LCD screens) and South Island Line.

Penetrating dynamic communities
Currently, around 5,000 LCD screens are installed on board the entire fleet of more than 100 MTR trains on East Rail Line, Tuen Ma Line, Kwun Tong Line and South Island Line.
